The Tweet you quoted is the most important part. Trump will 99% surely *NOT* debate. He’ll simply say “The debates are rigged.” And that will be that. I would love to see a moderator ask, “If Trump will not debate you, how do you plan to get enough media coverage to win?” You’re right here. The Dem candidate doesn’t have to lie and demagogue like Trump but whoever it is has to *fight* and be willing to trade punches and do what it takes to get coverage. If that means debating an inflatable doll of Trump with his pants down, then do it. If it means challenging him “mano e mano” then do it. Warren and Sanders are pretty much the only possibilities at this point. Maybe a Sanders-Warren or Warren-Sanders ticket?

Unfortunately given electoral college and everything else in this country, absent a coronavirus-induced recession a la 2008, Trump is coming in with every advantage and Democratic-Socialism is a harder sell in good economic times even if they are only fostered by consumer debt.
